What scares the beejeesus out of me is change. It’s very difficult for me to accept changes. Acceptance is a hard act. I’m only a simpleton. I especially cannot cope with drastic change. Why can’t changes be spontaneous and subtle?
The cycle of life within the planet has become abnormal. Changes occur without a process. People have skipped a step to reach the destination. There are no longer means to an end. The journey has been forgotten, instead we teleport to the destination. And the result isn’t pretty. Many are affected; the environment and whatnot.
I look to the future it makes me cry
But it seems too real to tell you why
Freed from the century
With nothing but memory, memory

Here I am again ranting about data integrity. For years, I have been criticizing all kinds of data protection systems. I’m referring to backups, not security. I can’t really trust any kind of RAID system. My site is a perfect example of it. Yes the backup is nearly instantaneous, but if both the running disk and the backup disk go down, the system won’t be able to recover the very latest data. The problem with my site is that my host never tells me they used my backup to recover my data. If the data recovered is the last memory bank entry, ten I don’t need a heads up, but if it’s a day old, then they should inform me. That way, I know which part of my data is lost. I also run a separate backup daily for this kind of situation, but it’s useless because I don’t know where the gap is.
Well, on a happy note, I received my LinkStation yesterday and I’m running RAID1 on it. It’ll help me criticize the technology more hehe.

A man is born to serve what purpose? My guess is as good as yours. Is it to populate, shape and define the world? Maybe. What I am sure of is that a man is born waiting to die. A man’s life is finite. He lives and after a span of time, he dies – forever decayed; no soul, no afterlife. During the time the man lives, he undergoes several transformations toward his ending. He suffers through time to reach that end. Life is a process of dying. (more…)

Many portable gadgets in the past few years have been coming out that are multi-purpose. Everyone seems to want everything in their cellphones now. While I was with my girlfriend, she remarked that she won’t buy a digital camera because her cellphone already has enough mega pixels to capture the moments. I have no comment on that remark, but it did inspire this entry. (more…)

I did three things tonight. In order of execution: (1) archive previous blogs since 2001, (2) backup old websites and folders from the server, and (3) deleted backed up sites and folders from the server. What a relief. Now when editing I don’t have to scroll all the way down to the bottom of the pile. It also is a relief that my previous blog posts were archived neatly in one single site.
I was going through some of my entries while archiving and it brings back memories. It seems I’m very active blogging during summertime. I hope you enjoy my past thoughts as much as I do. I will find time to edit each one of them.
