Phelpsian Feat

I was refraining from writing an entry  on Michael Phelps, but I’m out of ideas. For a whole week, I’ve followed every race that Phelps swam, except for the 400IM that I missed. Bob Costas was right when he said that Michael Phelps as the greatest athlete is subjective. I’ll try to be objective. (more…)

War & The Economy

We all know that the two World Wars brought stability to dying economies of their era. Before the bombing of the WTC and the war on terrorism, US economy wasn’t so good. George W. Bush was elected and was made a scapegoat for the slide of US economy. So here 9/11 was a perfect opportunity to improve the spiraling economy. On the side note, it’s not being ruled out that Pearl Harbor was of the same opportunity to get out of the Great Depression. The American government was rumored to have known the threat, but created an excuse to halt the isolation and enter the war. Gawd! I love American politics! (more…)

Electronic Voting

Before leaving the house, I saw on the news that the Philippines’ Commission on Elections (COMELEC) will pilot an electronic voting process in the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) in the coming gubernatorial (regional) election in the region. The machines are provided by Avante. (more…)

Pinoy Musik Festival 2008

Yesterday I went to the festival with four colleagues. We arrived at the expo center a little after 1. There weren’t too many people. When we entered the expo, we were greeted by WU exhibitors. So fun begins. We did everything so that we each get a souvenir from WU. Then we roamed around the expo and found the MG booth. We again asked for souvenirs. The result is the photo below. These two companies are the competitors of the company we work for — that’s why it’s fun. Needless to say, we also acquired a few souvenirs from X (another competitor) later that day. (more…)
