Archive, Backup, Cleanup

I did three things tonight. In order of execution: (1) archive previous blogs since 2001, (2) backup old websites and folders from the server, and (3) deleted backed up sites and folders from the server. What a relief. Now when editing I don’t have to scroll all the way down to the bottom of the pile. It also is a relief that my previous blog posts were archived neatly in one single site.

I was going through some of my entries while archiving and it brings back memories. It seems I’m very active blogging during summertime. I hope you enjoy my past thoughts as much as I do. I will find time to edit each one of them.

Wordpress Origin

I’m pretty sure not everyone using Wordpress knows the software’s origin. Well, if you are curious, I’ll let you know. Wordpress was a distribution of a b2. If you are doing your own editing of the Wordpress sotware, the familiarity of b2 will be there.

I thought of posting an entry on this because I was wondering if the b2 site that I used to constantly visit for updates during the infancy of blogging is still there (in its URL address). I’m glad it is still there…untouched.

Kudos to Michel!

MTV Generation

Does MTV deserves a spot in my blog? Well, I guess it does. Every year, the time I spend watching the VMAs shortens. I confess, I haven’t seen all the VMAs, but this year’s show must have been the worst of all. It is hosted by Chris Rock, to start with. No one can host a terrible party, but the corniest comedian in the planet. Secondly, is the VMA becoming a flea market or what? Even Iggy Pop is now selling his upcoming album. VMA is place where losers from The Grammys win, meaning, good music is no longer acknowledged. I thinked I’ve watched more presentations tonight than actually hearing music in the show because everytime they announce the winner I’m already in another channel watching Steven Seagal kicks ass. The only musicians in the show are the members of Coldplay who really represented the few (the talented).

Did VMA ruin my day? Hell no! My cousin emailed me tonight asking my thoughts on a musician that I’ve never heard of before called Viena Teng. After listening to a few samples off her album, I was immediately hooked. I’m off to Borders tomorrow to buy the album. She has a beautiful voices and her music is really moving. It’s orchestral, yet it rocks!
