So many thoughts are left unpublished. Mostly forgotten, but a few remain in an imaginary cloud hovering atop my head. Of the few, many are left dormant for I’ve been lingering trapped in lackluster state of mind. Frustrating. Unproductive.

It has been months since my last post. Many things have happened. Changes have been drastic. It is only I that’s been idle. Thus I proclaim my return with a stockpile of random thoughts.

The recent economic recession has a slight effect on me. I have not been following the news on the issues and I complied with tips online about not checking my 401K account to avoid further personal breakdown. It’s not that I lost much, it’s tedious and unproductive on my part.

Many school of thoughts have risen on the cause of the meltdown. They are all experts, so there’s no need for me to argue. I would however throw my unproven two cents on the matter. I’m not learned or deligent enough to work things that concerns the actual causes or possibilities. I have neither a degree in economics nor in politics. Herein are my thoughts driven by a limited logic that I possess.

Many have said that greed caused the havoc. On this note I agree. Since the inception of massive labor outsourcing the US economy have been suffering. Outsourcing labor means that unemployment in the country increases. Corporations resorted to outsourcing because of lesser overhead. The cost of one person in the country could pay for five in an English-speaking third-world nation. It’s a productive and inexpensive solution. The most affected demographics would be the clerical and administrative positions which mostly compose the average consumer. With a significant number of consumers remain jobless for a long period of time comes a decrease in luxurious demands.

Another historical change would be the transition from white house to black house. It may sound racist, but it’s a fact. The European Union and the radical leaders of South America have succeeded in establishing a puppet in Barack. Barack is boldly selling Americans to the enemy. It’s not a secret why EU was founded (only the masses are ignorant and the learned tend to ignore). Chavez and Castro are clearly not American symphatizers. The reason why Europeans adore Barack so much is that they can laugh at the world’s superpower. Barack’s inexperience in the executive decisions has unravel in his foreign affairs. Yes it made the foreigners smile, but made his citizens frown. I will be expecting four years of Hollywood and premature presidency.

If there’s anything I hate, it’s someone who join the bandwagon of hearsays and make their own. I’m currently in company (as in a group of; not a firm) of such. I know of someone who claims such and such to be true when it’s clear as the light of day that the words coming out of his mouth are manufactured only to appear learnéd. There was even an instance when he would have looked stupid if I laid the facts. I would have been pleased if everything he said before spitting was “in my opinion,” but it wasn’t because at the end of every sentences was the phrase “that’s the truth!”

I’ve been hearing such libelous claims for years now. It’s just not good for the ears to hear faulty facts. My blood rises every time I hear such uneducated behavior. Just keep it to yourself or write a blog like me. I’m pretty much aware my opinions are rebellious of conventions and reality. However, I don’t think I’ve misguided anyone as to claiming a fact that already exist to be not or vice-versa. If I am guiding the readers to a different path, my bases are my opinions, not claims or claims that haven’t been claimed factual by the almanac.

NOTE: Before you refine a search on the people around me because of my use of pronoun, I don’t use the “he/she” pronoun because using a “he” is acceptable by American English grammar standards to refer to an unknown gender.

The other night I was watching Nuts Entertainment on GMA PinoyTV and Senator Francis Joseph “Chiz” Escudero was the guest in the Balakubak segment. One question was whether he’d consider running in the presidential election in 2010. As usual, Chiz gave an intelligent answer whereas he said that he’s only thirty-nine years old so he won’t comment on such, but he hinted that he would be forty by the election day. Unlike the United States which requires a 35-year-old limit, the Philippines requires that its President is at least forty. Escudero has been considered to be one of the candidates in 2010, and so thoughts amassed.

So far, the hopefuls that I’m aware of are Mar Roxas, Manny Villar, Noli De Castro, Loren Legarda, Chiz Escudero, and Bayani Fernando. To follow are my two cents:

Bayani Fernando would be insignificant in this race. Though he is famous around the National Capital Region for his MMDA, the provinces are not aware of his accomplishments. Addition to that, he has divided support within the region. I strongly believe that the progress he dreams of for the nation is purely cosmetic. I won’t be surprised if he’s in the office and make the country foolish by nominating it for the Olympics… Sorry I couldn’t resist humor.

Francis Escudero entered his first term in the executive position a year ago. Intellegent, young, ambitious and with great vision. If elected, my expectation on his policies would be too high. He’s one of the better nationalists in the country. However, I would question his experience. Are his accomplishments enough to say that he has experience in the executive level? My bet is that his greater chances is at age forty-seven. He’s one of the better politicians in the national level in the country I must say.

Loren Legarda is probably one of the most greedy politician I could think of. Should we say power monger? She failed to win as the vice president, so she’s expected to take a stab at the presidency and become the third madam president. Cory and Gloria I think are enough to screw the nation. Is that sexist to you? It’s a fact! Not only the gender that will render incapability to lead the country for Legarda, it’s also the fact that she’s a news woman. A journalist must be objective, but a journalist also knows all the tricks to hide and confide things. They can be their own PR strategist. The public could be easily blinded. She is intelligent and courageous, but those aren’t enough.

Vice President Noli De Castro could be a force to reckon with during the elections. He has a wide fanbase way back his MGB days. He’s literally done nothing (as far as I know) that can smudge his reputation, but he’s also done nothing for the country. He’s playing a neutral role now as he tries to win the public through image. I believe he will fight during the elections using righteous image and maintain his fanbase. Like I said about journalists, I hope he doesn’t rule the country.

That brings me to the two men who will probably have a showdown in 2010. Them being Ilonggos are mere coincidents. I don’t have wide knowledge of all these six politicians I’ve mentioned, my opinion is based on tidbits of knowledge about them.

Roxas is a respected Senator and is a descendant of the former President Manuel Roxas. In fact, he won more votes than the current president had, so he’s popular also. He’s rich and intelligent. He appeals to the masses and he’s media friendly. The only negative on him would probably his bachelor status. Being a family person is usually a factor in becoming the leader of a nation (it’s a big deal in the US anyway). Other than that, he may as well be the next president of the Philippines.

Roxas may have a greater chance to win the presidency, but he won’t get it so easily. Manny Villar will most likely make a stir and give Roxas a fight of his life. Villar has led the Congress and the Senate in his public service in the last decade. Though I’m not knowledgeable of him, I’ve seen him on a TV interview once. I don’t need books to tell me what this person can bring the nation. He has a clear vision of what he will give for the country, the values he set for the country to straighten. I don’t invision him to lead the country and make it prosper. I see him leading the country to a path which could eventually lead to properity. A very intelligent man who seems to have his priority set straight.

I may have misinformed you on facts, however these are thoughts without allusions. I may have just paraded my ignorance, but at least I’ve cleared my head.

As I was checking blogs off my blogroll, I noticed that my ads are McCain oriented. Data mining capability of Google is really amazing. I don’t have to say which party I tend to lean, yet it knows. I’m not a registered voter and I don’t think I’ll be, but I’m openly a Republican. I guess it’s in my nature to go against the grain because I live in an urban area and urbanites tend to be democrats.

Especially in this year’s election. I think that the democratic party is a joke. They should have found someone more effective because McCain is a tough contender. I think if they had Kerry run again, they may have a chance. I won’t make any prediction save one. Hollywood will vote Obama because the vocal these celebrities about supporting Obama, they think that the masses will watch their movies. If you have Pamela Anderson screaming she’s voting Obama, I think you have to think who to vote again. It may be better to vote for Perot if he runs again.

Before you comment on my opinion, it is solely mine and I did not do any research on each candidate’s platform or issues. These are solely my hunch based on the years I’ve “kind of” observe these men.

We all know that the two World Wars brought stability to dying economies of their era. Before the bombing of the WTC and the war on terrorism, US economy wasn’t so good. George W. Bush was elected and was made a scapegoat for the slide of US economy. So here 9/11 was a perfect opportunity to improve the spiraling economy. On the side note, it’s not being ruled out that Pearl Harbor was of the same opportunity to get out of the Great Depression. The American government was rumored to have known the threat, but created an excuse to halt the isolation and enter the war. Gawd! I love American politics!

Here we are, everything going up. We’re far from another depression, so hold your horses. Why did the war on terror not solve the economic issues of the United States? Firstly, let me explain in a nutshell why war would help a bearing economy. If there is a war, a lot of hardware is needed (guns & ammos). These hardwares have to be built, thus jobs are created. However, jobs aren’t created because jobs were outsourced. The intention was not fulfilled because of the recent surge of labor outsourcing.

America is in the verge of winning the war in Iraq, so let’s look ahead and discuss what we’re going to see. Apparently, oil prices are skyrocketing to the roof because the main source of petroleum is located in the Middle East. With their leaders’ refusal to pump out more petroleum to satisfy the demand, prices of petroleum will keep rising. So did the war in Iraq backfire on America? Yes and No. No in the sense that the intention was not to gain ground on petroleum market. It was to oust Saddam and destroy the haven for terrorists. Yes because inconspicuously, the intention of gaining grounds in the Middle East was there and no one can deny that. It’s not written in paper, but we all know it is there. I have yet to decide on my thoughts whether in the long run, the relationship with the Arab nations progress.

So war did not fix the economic problems of the nation. The country is said to have a huge deficit.

What is a deficit? In layman’s term (because I’m a layman), it’s a negative balance in your bank account. Borrowed money. America has billions of borrowed dollars and the bulk of it is from China. Does that mean that America is poor? No. All nations borrow money from other nations. Borrowing money is a relationship between nations. Most of the time it’s a strategy to hold a nation’s neck. The debtor can put a creditor on a leash if he knows what he’s doing. That’s also the cause of the downward spiral of the dollars, but it’s also part of economic stimulation. Look at Euro, everything must be expensive as hell over there. I’m sensing economic war between the US and EU :)

It sounds like I’m defending the US government, but I am. Also, I would like to conclude that war will not go away because it stimulates every thing that makes the world go round. So if you’re still baked and living in the 60′s, wake up and smell the coffee because it’s perfectly brewed.
