X2: X-Men United
May 3rd, 2003
I saw X2: X-Men United today. The line, as expected, was long, but the reason was that there were only three clerks. It did not bother me that much because I still paid in matinee bargain.
The movie was way better than the first one. I still am disappointed with the plot. Like the Saturday morning cartoon, X-Men Evolution, the plot is all messed up and is not following the “real” story. Another disappointment is the development of Rogue’s character. I think that when Rogue was tossed out of the disfunctional jet, that was the perfect cue for her ability to fly. So far, the only ability that they show of Rogue is her mimicry during skin contact which she is not supposed to be able to control and in the movie, she did. Rogue is one of my favorite X-Men, that’s why it’s really pissing me off.
This movie is also a prelude to the Phoenix Saga which is the least episode I like. I hope that they don’t have the Imperial Guards in the next movie.
…to be continued!
