America Under Attack

I have to enter a journal on this day because it is going to be a part of the history.

Earlier this morning, two airliners struck New York City’s tallest building, the World Trade Center (WTC). I didn’t know the whole story until I got home this afternoon at 5. I came to school early because I have an early first class, therefore, I didn’t have any bit of an idea what’s going on outside, until I logged online and visited ikonboard ibforums. Before entering the thread, I thought that the topic title was a joke, but I was wrong when I saw images posted.

I called home, but it was busy, so I went in the cafeteria, which was virtually empty, and bought my usual turkey with provolone cheese sandwich. Then I found out from the cashier that the Subway system has been disabled. After eating, I went straight to the science building for my next class when everyone were going on different direction. Then someone told me that classes were cancelled, so I investigated for a while and tried to find my way home. It wasn’t easy especially since I live in Queens which is on a different island as I was and the only transportation was disabled. My dad couldn’t pick me up anyway coz they closed the bridges. So, I took the bus going downtown and walked around for a bit trying to find a clue how to get home. Then I saw a mob going down to 2nd Avenue, therefore, I joined the bandwagon. On my way down the avenue, Tino Martinez of the New York Yankees passed by me. He is my favorite Yankee player to those who doesn’t know. Then the mob and I continued to 59th Street where we used the Queensborough Bridge to cross to Queens. Yes, we just walked and it took about an hour. When I reached Queens, I called my dad to pick me up somewhere. It took them about an hour for a 15-minute errand because of traffic. Imagine this, I walked all over Manhattan & my dad asked me to drive because his knees hurt. Can you believe that? Well, that’s all for now from me since we will have school tomorrow, which I think is very ridiculous.
